Emerging fungal pathogens and their impact on crop yield: An integrated approach to disease diagnosis and sustainable management in AGRO ecosystems

Author(s): Rishab Chauhan, Sagar Pal and Lokendra Kumar

Abstract: Emerging fungal pathogens have become increasingly sophisticated in terms of how they attack our crops, which poses new challenges to global food security. They are capable of undermining agriculture productivity and quality by significantly reducing crop yield. Novel fungal diseases have arisen and spread because of the transformation in climate, global trade, and farming methods. This paper illustrates the evolution caused by such pathogenic fungi with respect to agricultural productivity and provides an integrated framework for accurate disease diagnostics as well as sustainable management. Additionally, it underscores biological control along with precision agriculture alongside digital and molecular diagnostics while intertwining policy intervention into a single cohesive strategy.
