Abstract: Mustard is the second most important oilseed crop of India after groundnut in terms of area and production. However, it is susceptible to various diseases, notably Alternaria blight incited by
Alternaria brassicae, which poses significant threats to yield and quality. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiology and management of mustard blight during the Rabi season of 2023. Therefore, various potential biocontrol agents were evaluated in vitro against the pathogen
A. brassicae, at the Department of Plant Pathology, VNMKV, Parbhani. Though all test bioagents were found antagonistic to the test pathogen, but most efficient were,
T. harzianum, which resulted with significant highest mycelial growth inhibition (100.00%), of the test pathogen, followed by
Aspergillus niger (88.69%),
T. asperellum (82.21%) and
Metarhizhium anisopliae (78.14%).
